Cinque nomination, cinque vittorie: Modern Family domina gli Emmy, portandosi a casa cinque statuette su cinque nomination, segue Downton Abbey con quattro vittorie. Gloria anche per Friday Night Lights, delusione per HBO che aveva tante nomination ma riporta a casa solo quattro premi (con Boardwalk Empire, miglior regia per una serie drammatica, miglior attrice protagonista – Kate Winslet, cui manca solo il Tony per raggiungere i quattro massimi riconoscimenti teatrali, televisivi e cinematografici – e miglior attore non protagonista per Mildred Pierce e miglior attore non protagonista in Game of Thrones). Jim Parsons si conferma miglior attore protagonista in una serie comica, Melissa McCarthy di Mike & Molly è la sua controparte femminile, mentre sul fronte drammatico vincono Julianna Margulies, The Good Wife e Kyle Chandler, Friday Night Lights. Delusione anche per Glee, solo una vittoria minore con la miglior guest star femminile, e Mad Men, che su 19 nomination ottiene – per l’ennesima volta – ‘solamente’ la vincita in miglior serie drammatica e una statuetta minore. A presentare la serata è stata Jane Lynch, Sue Sylvester in Glee, ma non sono mancati nomi celebri del grande e piccolo schermo tra coloro che hanno annunciato le varie nomination – qui la lista completa – e hanno premiato i vincitori: tra gli altri Lea Michele, Will Arnett, Zooey Deschanel, Kaley Cuoco, Rob Lowe, Melissa McCarthy, Ashton Kutcher, Julianna Margulies, Amy Poehler, Don Cheadle, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jimmy Fallon, Hugh Laurie, Drew Barrymore, Maria Bello, David Boreanaz, Katie Holmes, Anna Torv, Bryan Cranston e Ian Somerhalder.

Straordinario il numero di apertura di Jane Lynch, un viaggio musicale tra protagonisti più o meno noti della serialità americana, da Grey’s Anatomy a The Big Bang Theory, cominciando con Leonard Nimoy di Fringe – che nonostante l’annunciato ritiro dalle scene, continua a far capolino qua e là. Donne protagoniste anche al momento dell’annuncio della miglior protagonista per una serie comica, tutte le nominate hanno infatti scelto di salire tutte sul palco tenendosi per mano e abbracciando poi la vincitrice. Nel video che vi postiamo anche il discorso di ringraziamento di Jim Parsons.

Gloria anche per Friday Night Lights, due statuette tra cui quella a Jason Katims, che batte tra gli altri Jon Hamm, Hugh Laurie e Steve Buscemi; Julianna Margulies e Margo Martindale sono invece la miglior attrice protagonista e la miglior attrice non protagonista per The Good Wife e Justified.
